The little nurse looked pure and adorable, likely a recent nursing school graduate. Upon hearing his question, she said anxiously, “A tube of anesthesia for a patient is missing.”

“What should I do? If I can’t find it, the Head Nurse is going to scold me!”

“Anesthesia?”

Yang Ling looked around. Suddenly, he spotted something and whispered, “Don’t move.”

“Ah?”

The little nurse was startled but froze in place as instructed.

Yang Ling’s hand grazed past her ear. Under the nurse’s blushing gaze, he peeled a piece of tape off the back of her collar. Attached to it was a small vial.

He held up his hand. “Is this the anesthesia you were looking for?”

The little nurse paused for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise, “Yah? Yes, yes, that’s it!”

Yang Ling smiled and handed the vial over. “To manage to get the anesthesia stuck to your back collar… You really are a talent.”

The little nurse blushed red. After taking the vial and hurriedly thanking him, she quickly walked toward a ward ahead.

“Hey, I haven’t asked for your name yet.”

By the time Yang Ling spoke, her back had already disappeared from view.

“Ding, you fulfilled the nurse’s wish. Wish Value +1.”

“Hehe, easy peasy.”

Yang Ling was in a great mood. Just as he was planning to wander around, two nurses walked up to him. One of them, who looked about twenty-five or twenty-six, sneered, “What, are you her boyfriend?”

Yang Ling was taken aback. He shook his head. “Don’t know her. Is something the matter?”

“If you don’t know her, then mind your own business!”

“Oh?”

It was immediately obvious they hadn’t come with good intentions. Yang Ling narrowed his eyes and said with a faint smile, “I was actually wondering about that. No matter how stupid someone is, they wouldn’t tape anesthesia to their own collar.”

“So, it was a masterpiece by you two.”

“So what! You got a problem with that?”

The other nurse spoke with disdain, “Aren’t you just someone who got lucky? You dare to meddle in other people’s business?”

“Take a look at the kind of people who stay here. Do you deserve to be here?”

Yang Ling actually did look around. The environment on this floor was quiet and secluded, and the decor was distinct from that of an ordinary inpatient department. Those staying here were definitely either rich or noble.

In other words, the bureau’s leadership treated him well, arranging a top-tier ward for him.

He suddenly understood. “So that’s how it is.”

“The people living here are all big shots. That little nurse is much prettier than you two, so she’s more likely to gain the favor of these important figures. She’s getting in the way of you bagging a rich husband.”

“You were jealous, so you pranked her to try and drive her away, right?”

“And I just happened to ruin your plans, so you came here to mock and warn me?”

The nurse who spoke first sneered, “Pretty? Does she count as pretty? She’s just an idiot.”

“Ha… Hahaha.”

Yang Ling was amused. He pointed to a mirror not far away. “Go take a look in the mirror yourself. If she isn’t pretty, wouldn’t that make you two ugly monsters?”

“You!”

The two women glared at him furiously. Just then, the System’s notification chimed.

“Ding, you crushed the nurses’ wish to prank someone. Attribute Point +1.”

“Ding, you crushed their wish to mock you. Attribute Point +1.”

Seeing the two women rendered speechless by his words, and having gained two Attribute Points, Yang Ling laughed heartily. Ignoring them, he continued to saunter forward.

Watching his retreating, one of the women sneered, “It was just dumb luck, what kind of th….”

Before her voice could fall, an object suddenly flew toward her and landed accurately inside her mouth.

It was a grape.

In the distance, Yang Ling raised the bunch of grapes in his hand. “Sometimes, without strength, luck won’t favor you.”

The nurse retched the grape out of her mouth. As the two women watched his figure drifting further away, they both saw a look of fear in each other’s eyes.
