Chapter 1 Miscarriage
With a loud bang, the door was kicked open.
I stood at the bathroom doorway in my bathrobe, watching Jiang Ruohe’s furious expression as I shrank back and reached to close the bathroom door.
The muscles on Jiang Ruohe’s face trembled with rage, his fists clenched so tight they cracked.
He strode forward, gripping my wrist tightly as he glared at me with hatred.
“What, do you think you can escape?”
His icy gaze felt all too familiar, and my body instinctively flinched.
He snorted coldly, reached out and dragged me from the bathroom, then threw me heavily onto the bed.
As I tried to push myself up, I suddenly felt a chill on my body…
I reached out to push him away, but he swiftly pinned my wrists.
He pressed his distorted face close to mine, sparks of fury shooting from his eyes.
“You dressed so seductively knowing I was back – isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”
Perhaps because Jiang Ruohe didn’t want to see my disgusting face, he flipped me over.
The cold shadows of trees outside cast patterns through the window, creating a scene of disarray on the floor. Fear and endless humiliation rose within me.
The shoulder blade he had pinned hurt as if it were about to crack, yet I couldn’t move, forced to endure his torment.
Jiang Ruohe, what gives you the right to treat me like this? What gives you the right to direct all your hatred at me? I never…
I laughed bitterly to myself. What would explaining accomplish anyway?
He hates me, wishes he could tear me to pieces. Even if I explained, he wouldn’t listen, much less believe me…
Wave after wave of pain radiated from my lower abdomen. Too weak to struggle anymore, I gritted my teeth and closed my sore, aching eyes.
Afterward, he threw the bathrobe over me and dressed.
He strode away while I kept my eyes tightly shut, my hands gradually clenching into fists.
In my daze, I heard someone calling me.
I looked up and saw Aunt Liu peeking from outside the doorway, then buried my head in the sheets as tears fell despite my efforts to hold them back.
A sharp pain struck my abdomen, and I felt something gush out from below. I scrambled up in panic and saw blood staining the bathrobe red.
“Blood! The young mistress is bleeding…”Aunt Liu hurriedly ran to the staircase.”
“Young master, please don’t leave! The young mistress is bleeding…”
“Better if she dies.”
With a loud slam, the main door downstairs shut…
The pain in my lower abdomen intensified. I curled up in agony until I gradually lost consciousness.
In my dream, I found myself deep in a sea of flowers, where a familiar figure stood not far away. Overjoyed, I hurried over and called out to him. When he turned around,
I saw Jiang Ruohe’s demon-like face and collapsed to the ground.
He approached coldly and threw something at me – something sticky. Looking down, I saw it was a baby covered in blood.
My body trembled, and my eyes snapped open. I stared blankly at the ceiling, unable to collect myself for a long time.
Jiang Minghao’s furious voice came from outside the hospital room.
“Jiang Ruohe, get to the hospital right now, immediately! Otherwise, don’t even think about getting the Jiang Family shares!”
Jiang Minghao hung up the phone, breathing heavily as Butler Chen tried to calm him.
“Sir, please don’t be so angry.”
“How can I not be angry? My great-grandchild is gone…” Jiang Minghao raised his voice, then lowered it again, probably worried about waking me.
After some time, Jiang Minghao spoke again.
“I’ll beat you to death, you wretched boy.”
It seemed Jiang Ruohe had arrived. He remained silent, allowing Jiang Minghao to continue his low, scolding remarks.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re scheming,” Jiang Minghao snorted coldly. “I’ve already drafted a share transfer agreement, transferring the remaining fifty percent of shares to Xiao Wan as her personal property. If you still plan to divorce, you will have no right to succeed my position…”
“Grandfather, don’t you think this is very unfair to me?” Jiang Ruohe asked coolly.
“Don’t talk to me about fairness! Asking about fairness hah! Have you been fair to Xiao Wan? Do I need to spell out what you’ve done?!”
Sunlight streamed through the glass, appearing warm, yet at this moment my heart felt as cold as if I were standing in the midst of a snow-filled winter sky.
