Chapter 15: Trouble at the Company

I am the squad leader of the security team at Brilliant Group Company.

Including myself, there are five people in the security department. I don’t put on any airs around them, and we get along harmoniously. They usually respectfully call me “Brother Yu.”

The man who called me is named Jiang Xiaobin. Today, he and another security guard named Zhang Heng are on duty at the company’s gatehouse.

This guy is quite sharp and dedicated to his work, and he knows how to handle situations well.

“You should be careful too. Scarface is still out there looking for you. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, don’t leave the house.”

“I’ve saved my phone number in your phone. If anything happens, just call me.”

“There’s food in the fridge. If I don’t come home for lunch, just take it out to thaw and cook it yourself. Wait for me to get back from work…”

After giving Su Xue a long list of reminders, I turned and left home. I hopped onto my electric scooter parked downstairs and sped off toward the company.

It didn’t take long before I rode my electric scooter to the entrance of Brilliant Group Company.

By then, a large crowd had already gathered at the company gate, watching the commotion.

A Lamborghini was blocking the main entrance.

A tall, well-dressed young man in a suit and a burly man were kicking and punching Jiang Xiaobin as he lay on the ground.

Zhang Heng had also been knocked down by them and was writhing in pain on the ground.

A large group of company employees stood at a distance, pointing and whispering among themselves, but no one dared to speak up, let alone step in to stop the violence.

So it wasn’t Liu Lu causing trouble at the company after all!

I breathed a slight sigh of relief, but seeing two of my subordinates being beaten filled me with anger. I quickly threw my electric scooter aside.

“Stop!” I roared, charging forward.

The man in the suit and the burly, tattooed man who looked like a bodyguard halted their attack on Jiang Xiaobin upon hearing my shout and turned their attention to me.

“Who are you?” I demanded angrily. “Why are you causing trouble at our company’s entrance? Why did you attack our security guards?”

“Well, well,” the man in the suit looked me up and down. Seeing that I was handsome but plainly dressedhardly wealthy or physically imposinghe dismissed me outright and said to the tattooed man beside him with a laugh:

“Here’s a nosy idiot looking for trouble. You should have some fun with him!”

The tattooed man clenched his fists, glared at me fiercely, and said arrogantly, “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure this idiot regrets it!”

I paid no attention to these two lowlifes and instead walked straight over to Jiang Xiaobin, asking with concern:

“Xiaobin, how badly are you hurt? Can you get up?”

“Damn it, these guys hit way too hardit hurts like hell!” Jiang Xiaobin cursed, struggling on the ground a few times but failing to stand.

“What happened?” I asked.

“It’s like this: when this Lamborghini pulled up at the company entrance, Zhang Heng and I followed company rules and asked the people inside to get out, scan the code, and register before we could let them through. Not only did they refuse, but they started cursing at us and blocking the entrance with their car. We were worried about holding up other vehicles, so we asked them to move. Instead of moving, they got out of the car, started arguing with us, and then began beating us…”

After Jiang Xiaobin finished recounting the incident in one breath, he noticed the dark lines forming on my forehead and knew I was truly furious.

He pleaded with me, “Brother Yu, you have to stand up for us!”

I reassured him, “Don’t worry, I won’t let my men suffer on their own turf.”

Then, I glanced over at Zhang Heng, who was lying injured on the other side after being beaten by the man in the suit and the tattooed man, before turning my gaze back to the two of them.

“Looks like you’re here to stand up for these two guard dogs, huh?” the man in the suit said mockingly.

“You’re right, I am here to stand up for them,” I replied, suppressing my rage. “I don’t know who you are or what connections you have, but today, you hurt my men, and you will pay for what you’ve done!”

“Oh, what big talk,” the young man sneered at me with a look of utter contempt. “I’d like to see exactly how you plan to make me pay.”

With that, he shot a meaningful glance at the tattooed man standing beside him.

Understanding the cue, the tattooed man nodded, then clenched his fist and charged at me like a tiger pouncing down a mountain, throwing a punch straight at my head…
