Although Li Yunwan still had a million questions she wanted to clear up with Qi Dengxian, he didn’t seem inclined to give her the chance.

Xiang Dongqing didn’t receive him personally. Instead, she had her pretty little secretary lead him to the Security Department to report for duty.

The Minister of the Security Department was a man in his thirties. His suit was ironed crisp, his hair was cut short, and he radiated a sense of lean, explosive power from head to toe.

“Minister Shang, this is the new Deputy Minister of Security, Qi Dengxian. Please help him get acquainted with the department’s operations,” the secretary said politely.

Shang Jun held a significant position within the Xiang Group and was highly regarded by Xiang Dongqing. He was responsible for all types of security missions, and often acted as Xiang Dongqing’s personal bodyguard during her travels.

When Shang Jun saw how young Qi Dengxian was, a flicker of contempt flashed through his eyes. “Deputy Minister Qi, follow me to meet your colleagues.”

When the staff saw the new Deputy Minister, they gave him a modicum of face, standing up in a scattered fashion to offer a lukewarm round of applause.

Shang Jun barked, “What, none of you have eaten? Can’t you clap a bit more enthusiastically?”

At his roar, the employees immediately began to cheer loudly, and the applause became thunderous.

Having finished this display, Shang Jun turned to give Qi Dengxian a triumphant look. Through this small detail, he believed Qi Dengxian would see just how heavy his authority weighed in this department!

Qi Dengxian didn’t care in the slightest. He was only here to idle away his time and appease the Qiao family, having a title on the books was enough.

Qi Dengxian didn’t give a damn about whether Shang Jun’s expression was pleasant or not. After letting out a yawn, he walked out of the office to finish the rest of his onboarding procedures.

Xiang Dongqing had people secretly keeping an eye on the Security Department. After hearing the report, she frowned slightly.

He doesn’t seem like someone particularly capable… she thought, before quickly pushing the matter to the back of her mind to focus on her work.

Before long, the entire Security Department knew one thing: Deputy Minister Qi’s farts didn’t even make a sound!

No one took this new, young Deputy Minister seriously. Shang Jun was the boss of this department, everyone just listened to him and that was it.

Qi Dengxian was completely unbothered. Why would he waste his time fighting Shang Jun for power after finishing his paperwork? Wasn’t it better to just sit in the office and play on the computer?

“Tonight, you’ll be working with me. I’m also bringing along one of my subordinates to accompany President Xiang to a business meeting with the Tiger Gate Group!” Shang Jun walked into Qi Dengxian’s office, speaking as if issuing a command.
