Lin Xi froze for a split second before covering her eyes. “Cover yourself up!”
“Why are you acting shy? It’s not like you haven’t seen it before.” Song Xu leaned down and kissed her. Covering up was out of the question, but hiding it was a different story.
Song Xu’s kisses rained down upon Lin Xi’s body. She kept her eyes shielded while he continued to dote on his “wife.”
As waves of heat rolled over them, Lin Xi’s body began to flush. Her skin felt hot to the touch, and her throat was dry, her body’s natural responses betraying the intensity of the moment.
Song Xu kissed her tender lips, moisturizing them and effectively sealing off any protests she might have tried to make.
He didn’t give her any chance to escape today; his movements were seamless and absolute.
After an initial spike of pain, Lin Xi gradually relaxed, following his lead until they were both lost in the rhythm.
Song Xu felt like he was going insane—crazy with pleasure.
His competitive nature made him strive to be the best in every field. This was a new frontier, one he needed to explore deeply, determined to become the strongest among the strong.
But Lin Xi couldn’t keep up. Her physical stamina was no match for him. With the last of her energy, she shoved him off her. “I’m so tired. I need to rest—I need to sleep.”
Song Xu sighed. “Brother, I’m afraid you’ll have to suffer in silence for tonight.”
He picked her up. “Xixi, let me help you wash up.”
That, she could agree to. Lin Xi obediently let him carry her into the bathroom.
A man’s promises are as hollow as a ghost. Lin Xi finally understood the full weight of that saying. When she walked out of the bathroom, she was like a doll drained of its batteries—completely lifeless.
Song Xu carried her to his bedroom to sleep because Lin Xi’s bed was already a mess, and he couldn’t be bothered to tidy it.
For two full days, Song Xu didn’t leave the house, and Lin Xi barely left the bed.
If it weren’t for Xu Wantang calling and insisting that Song Xu bring Lin Xi over for dinner, Lin Xi felt she might have spent the entire holiday in that bed.
She looked at the chaotic room and felt a surge of irritation; she wanted to clean up, but she was just too exhausted.
“Don’t look at it,” Song Xu said, hugging her from behind. “Someone will come to clean it up later.”
“I think I should at least change the sheets.” Other than Song Chen’s room, they had slept in every single room in the apartment; not a single sheet was clean.
Song Xu wouldn’t let her exert herself any further. He blocked her path. “I’ll change them when we get back. You have no energy left for that.”
Lin Xi didn’t dare meet his eyes. Any small exchange of glances would cause Song Xu to cling to her, leading to an endless cycle of… well, everything.
“Let’s sleep in separate rooms tonight,” she said. She couldn’t take it anymore. For the past two days, she’d done nothing but sleep or be toyed with by Song Xu.
“No,” Song Xu rejected the idea sternly. “I can’t sleep without you.”
“I can’t sleep with you.” Lin Xi now understood the price of impulsivity. She shouldn’t have opened the door to their relationship so easily; maintaining a healthy distance was clearly the safest bet.
Song Xu knew he’d gone a bit overboard these past two days, but he just couldn’t help himself whenever he saw her. He kissed her cheek. “How about I let you rest properly tonight?”
As if I’d believe that. Lin Xi rolled her eyes at him and couldn’t be bothered to argue. She decided that when they got back that evening, she would simply lock her bedroom door from the inside.
They changed their clothes and went downstairs.
On the way to the Song family estate, Lin Xi felt she had forgotten something important. While waiting at a red light, she caught a glimpse of a pharmacy by the roadside. Her body stiffened as a terrifying thought occurred to her: they hadn’t used any contraception.
She was still a student—she couldn’t afford to get pregnant. She turned to look at Song Xu, her eyes filled with panic. “Song Xu…”
“Hmm?” Song Xu glanced at her and reached out to stroke her hair. “What is it, baby?”
“We didn’t use any protection!” Lin Xi said, her voice tight with nerves.
Song Xu looked remarkably calm. “What are you afraid of? If you’re pregnant, we’ll just have it.”
“But I’m still in school! How am I supposed to have a baby?” Lin Xi couldn’t accept the idea of being pregnant at eighteen and a mother at nineteen, spending the rest of her life revolving around a husband and children.
“You can take a year off,” Song Xu said, having clearly thought this through. “Once the baby is born, we can just dump it on my mom to raise. She’d definitely be happy to do it.”
Give birth but not raise it? That was incredibly irresponsible. Lin Xi hadn’t had a happy childhood; if she were to have a child, she would want to give them 100% of her love and care, but certainly not right now.
Lin Xi didn’t argue further. She lowered her head to think for a moment. “If I get pregnant, that means at least a year where you can’t touch me. Have you thought about that?”
A year? Song Xu couldn’t even handle a single day without touching her. He hesitated. “Baby, are you in your safe period right now?”
Lin Xi did the math in her head. She was, actually. Her period was due in the next couple of days, but she didn’t dare take the risk. “It’s the safe period, but I still think I should take a pill, just in case.”
“But those kinds of pills are so bad for your health.” Song Xu immediately regretted it. He shouldn’t have let Lin Xi bear the consequences.
“It shouldn’t be a big deal just once,” Lin Xi glanced at him. “But in the future…”
If he dared to go without protection again, he could forget about touching her ever again.
“I’ll be careful from now on,” Song Xu leaned over and kissed her lips. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t thoughtful enough.”
Song Xu wanted to kiss her again, but the sound of car horns honking from behind forced him to hit the gas and keep driving.
When they passed a pharmacy, Song Xu pulled the car over, unbuckled his seatbelt, and said to Lin Xi, “Xixi, wait for me in the car. I’m going to buy the medicine.”
Lin Xi nodded. Even if he asked her to go, she wouldn’t—buying that kind of medicine was just too embarrassing.
Song Xu walked into the pharmacy. The clerk’s eyes lit up the moment she saw him—the customer was incredibly handsome.
“Sir, what medicine do you need?” the clerk asked enthusiastically.
“Emergency contraceptive pill. One that works within 72 hours, with minimal side effects.” Song Xu wasn’t the least bit shy; he stated exactly what he wanted.
“Ah,” the clerk blinked, momentarily stunned. “Yes, we have it. Let me get it for you.”
The clerk handed him the most expensive brand. Song Xu took it and carefully read the instructions, satisfied that there were no red flags. “This one will do.”
“Alright,” the clerk said, sitting down at the computer to process the order. “Do you need anything else, sir?”
Song Xu glanced at the condoms displayed at the counter. “Those. Give me the largest size. Start with ten boxes.”
The clerk had never seen someone buy so many condoms, let alone the extra-large size. She felt a twinge of sincere envy for the customer’s girlfriend.
She checked the inventory. “I’m sorry, sir, we only have six boxes of the large size left.”
“A pharmacy this big, and you don’t even have ten boxes?” Song Xu was clearly dissatisfied. He had wanted a half-month’s supply, and now they were out of stock. “Fine, six will do.”
“Very well.” The clerk thought to herself that they didn’t even sell one box of the large size in a month, so having six on hand was already a minor miracle.
Just then, Lin Xi opened the door and walked in. She clutched her lower abdomen and looked at the clerk. “Excuse me, do you have a restroom here?”
