When Gu Nansheng arrived at the restaurant Lin Manqing had sent her and pushed open the door to the private room, the first thing she saw was a stunning woman with a killer figure lazily leaning against the sofa while exhaling a cloud of smoke.
“You sure took your time, big star,” Lin Manqing remarked with mock annoyance as she casually crushed her cigarette in the ashtray.
“I couldn’t help it. The paparazzi have been following me nonstop lately.”
Gu Nansheng removed her hat and mask, instantly revealing her breathtakingly beautiful face.
Lin Manqing narrowed her eyes and slowly scanned her from head to toe before her gaze landed squarely on Gu Nansheng’s chest.
“You lost weight,” she declared confidently. “Your boobs got smaller.”
Gu Nansheng nearly exploded on the spot.
“How is that possible? I’m a full 36C, okay?!”
But then she suddenly remembered how upset Lu Shijing had been the night before.
Could that actually have been the reason?
Her confidence immediately crumbled halfway.
She unconsciously lowered her head to glance at herself before muttering uncertainly,
“They’re… still fine, right? They couldn’t have shrunk that much…”
“Well, as long as your handsome little Lu doesn’t mind, who cares?” Lin Manqing grinned seductively and nudged her teasingly. “So? How’s life with your younger boyfriend?”
Lin Manqing had been the very first person to discover her relationship with Lu Shijing.
“I heard younger guys are especially energetic,” she continued shamelessly. “Look at your voice, it’s completely ruined. My, my.”
“Mind your own business.”
Gu Nansheng rolled her eyes so hard it was practically a full-body workout.
Honestly speaking, when she first started chasing Lu Shijing, Lin Manqing had contributed enormously to her success.
Three years earlier…
Lin Manqing was studying at the Fine Arts Academy of S University, while Gu Nansheng attended the Media Department at University A.
Since the two campuses were located right next to each other, Gu Nansheng often wandered over to hang around whenever she had free time.
That September happened to coincide with S University’s freshman orientation.
As the president of a student club, Lin Manqing had been assigned recruitment duties, so she dragged Gu Nansheng over to help out.
With two gorgeous women standing together at the booth, countless freshmen immediately gathered around them.
Especially Gu Nansheng.
Her milk tea-colored curls framed her face beautifully, making her look both sweet and rebellious at the same time. She wore an off-shoulder white crop top that revealed her delicate collarbones, paired with a light denim skirt that showed off her long, pale legs perfectly.
She was stunning in an effortlessly seductive way.
Under the excuse of signing up for the club, waves of freshmen crowded around her asking for her contact information.
Gu Nansheng was just beginning to panic over how to reject everyone politely when a cool male voice suddenly sounded nearby.
“Excuse me, please move aside.”
The crowd instinctively split apart.
Gu Nansheng turned her head immediately.
A young man stood there in a clean white shirt, tall and lean with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Slightly messy bangs rested against his forehead, while his deep tea-colored eyes carried a naturally cold indifference.
His thin lips were lightly pressed together as he looked toward the noisy crowd with obvious detachment.
At that exact moment, Gu Nansheng felt as though all the blood in her body had frozen.
The surrounding noise disappeared entirely from her ears.
Sunlight filtered through the autumn leaves above him, scattering patches of light across his white shirt.
Her eyes could no longer move away.
How could someone look this handsome in nothing but a plain white shirt?
“Hey, classmate!”
Before her brain could stop her, she had already spoken.
“Can I add your WeChat?”
Lu Shijing clearly seemed used to this kind of situation.
His gaze rested on her face for about three seconds before he calmly looked away again and continued walking without another word.
He rejected her completely.
Yet Gu Nansheng felt no embarrassment whatsoever.
Instead, her heartbeat went completely out of control.
Even his coldness fascinated her.
At that moment, she overheard the whispers around her.
“Isn’t that Lu Shijing from the Chemistry Department?”
“He’s even more handsome in person!”
Lin Manqing walked over and hooked an arm around Gu Nansheng’s shoulders while looking at her expression in amusement.
“What’s this? Do you like that type?”
“Love at first sight,” Gu Nansheng murmured while clutching her chest dramatically.
Lin Manqing frowned at her like she had lost her mind.
“Are you sure this isn’t just lust at first sight?”
“He’s a masterpiece,” Gu Nansheng declared seriously.
She had genuinely never seen a man who could make an ordinary white shirt look so breathtaking.
“I’m going to make him mine. You have to help me.”
At that point, Lin Manqing realized her friend was completely beyond saving.
And so, Gu Nansheng officially began her long journey of pursuing Lu Shijing.
Meanwhile, Lin Manqing mobilized every connection she had to investigate him thoroughly.
Two days later…
“Lu Shijing. Height: 185 centimeters. Weight: 65 kilograms. Birthday: XXX. Pisces. Single. Clean freak. No bad habits. Phone number: 135…”
Gu Nansheng sat inside her dorm room while painting her nails bright red and reading the information Lin Manqing had sent over.
“That’s all?” she replied with a confused emoji.
“That’s all,” Lin Manqing answered alongside an exhausted stick-figure emoji.
A nineteen-year-old younger guy…
So young.
Should she try adding him on WeChat first?
She searched for his phone number immediately.
His profile picture contained only a single character:
Jing.
Even his nickname was simply “Jing.”
Gu Nansheng quickly sent a friend request.
Rejected.
She tried again.
Rejected again.
After three more attempts without success, she angrily threw her phone onto the bed.
Ten minutes later, she picked it back up again and began typing furiously.
At the same time, inside the male dormitory, Lu Shijing was preparing to sleep when his phone suddenly chimed.
An unfamiliar number had sent him a message.
“Accept my WeChat request, or I’ll stand outside your dorm building every day singing love songs to you. I absolutely mean it.”
Lu Shijing had received countless confessions growing up.
But this was the first time he had encountered someone so direct and outrageous.
He found it unexpectedly amusing.
For once, he actually replied.
“Who are you?”
The moment Gu Nansheng saw the response, she became so excited she nearly spun in circles.
“The older sister who asked for your WeChat during the club fair two days ago.”
Ah.
It was her.
Lu Shijing remembered her.
She had been incredibly eye-catching, dressed boldly with flawless makeup.
So she was older than him.
He suddenly felt a little curious.
What exactly did girls like her see in him?
“Older sisters aren’t my type,” he replied calmly, hoping she would give up.
Gu Nansheng instantly became dissatisfied.
“How do you know what type I am? Then what type do you even like?”
Lu Shijing’s fingers paused over the screen.
What kind of girl did he like?
After seriously considering it for a moment, he felt certain it was definitely not someone as bold, noisy, and shamelessly forward as her.
When Gu Nansheng failed to receive a reply for a long time, she immediately sent another message.
“I can become any type you want! Sexy older sister, cute little fangirl, gentle and obedient girlfriend, I can switch modes anytime!!”
The corners of Lu Shijing’s lips lifted slightly.
He could practically feel her frustration bursting out through those two exclamation marks.
“Why don’t we try dating?” she added immediately afterward.
“Try what?”
“Dating this older sister.”
Even while typing, her cheeks were burning hot and her heartbeat felt completely uncontrollable.
“By dating me, you unlock multiple girlfriend personalities at once. Extremely cost-effective.”
Lu Shijing almost laughed.
“Dating someone you barely know, is your thinking process always this chaotic, sister?”
“Then let’s start by adding each other on WeChat so we can get to know each other,” she replied immediately. “Purely innocent communication!”
After waiting several seconds without a response, she sent another threatening message.
“Unless you really want me standing outside your dorm singing love songs every day? This sister is fully prepared to do it~”
Lying in bed, Lu Shijing stared quietly at the screen.
For some reason, she suddenly seemed different from the bold girl he remembered from that day.
She was unexpectedly…
Cute.
University life was dull anyway.
Maybe trying this out wouldn’t be so bad.
Finally, he sent a reply.
“Don’t sing. It’s too noisy.”
Gu Nansheng stared blankly at the message.
What exactly was that supposed to mean?
One minute later, her WeChat suddenly displayed a notification.
Jing has accepted your friend request.
Her profile picture was a blurry silhouette of a girl.
Unable to hold back any longer, she immediately sent a message.
“?”
A few seconds later, Lu Shijing sent his very first WeChat message to her.
“Then let’s start by getting to know each other, sister.”
