That night, when we returned to the apartment, Shen Mohan carried me straight into the bathroom.
Hot water poured down around us. He pinned me against the wall, kissing my neck, my collarbone, my chest—slowly working his way down.
The collar was still around my neck. The sapphire pendant shimmered beneath the rushing water.
He lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist and pressing my back to the wall.
“Su Wan,” he murmured softly, calling my name. “Look at me.”
I met his gaze. The eyes that were usually cold and distant were now filled with naked desire—and tenderness.
“I love you,” he said. “Not because of the contract. Not because of the thirty million.”
He entered me slowly but firmly, filling me inch by inch.
“It’s because… the first time you cried in front of me, I already wanted to hide you away—so no one else could ever see you.”
Tears instantly spilled from my eyes. I clung to him tightly.
“Shen Mohan… I love you too…”
He let out a low growl and began to move more fiercely, each thrust driving all the way in.
The sound of running water, the impact of our bodies, and my moans blended together in the bathroom.
When I reached my peak, I cried out his name over and over, my voice breaking with each call.
He released himself deep inside me, holding me tightly and refusing to let go.
Afterward, he carried me out of the bathroom, gently dried my body, carefully put the collar back on my neck, and then took me to the large bed in the bedroom.
He lay down and pulled me into his arms, letting me rest against his chest. His fingers slowly traced the sapphire on the collar.
“From now on, you have to wear it every day.”
I gave a soft hum of agreement and curled up against him.
“Shen Mohan…”
“Mm?”
“Do I still have to pay back the thirty million?”
He chuckled softly and kissed my forehead.
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because…” He held me even tighter. “You’ll be paying it back with your entire life.”
I smiled as tears slipped down my cheeks.
He kissed the corner of my eyes, his voice low and tender.
“Good night, my baby.”
“Good night… my president.”
The night was quiet. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city lights stretched endlessly across the darkness.
We held each other tightly, our breaths intertwined.
What began as a punishment game had, in the end, become a lifetime of possession and devotion.
