Chapter 7: Please Don’t Lift My Skirt, Okay?
Qin Yan’s hand remained steadily extended between them, holding out the card.
Shi Xingluo didn’t immediately take it, yet Qin Yan showed no trace of embarrassment.
“Who is that? Is Senior Qin talking to him?”
The group behind them had quickly caught up after seeing him stop, and various gazes subsequently fell upon Shi Xingluo.
“Not sure. His bangs are too thick, and he can’t see his face clearly. Can’t hear what they’re saying either. At least it’s a guy though.”
“If Senior Qin didn’t hate people crowding him so much, I’d really want to go take a closer look.”
The miscellaneous chatter from behind made Qin Yan’s eyebrows furrows almost imperceptibly.
But his expression quickly smoothed back into its usual cool detachment. “It’s fine if you don’t want to join.”
He began to fold his hand back, preparing to withdraw the small card, when Shi Xingluo suddenly reached out and precisely pinched the card between two fingers.
Lowering his gaze, Shi Xingluo looked at the small card printed with photos of two students in theatrical costumes. “Drama Club? Seems Senior Qin is quite inexperienced at promoting clubs. You didn’t even tell me which club it is, how could I decide whether to join?”
“And now, what’s your answer?”
Seeing him finally accept the card, Qin Yan’s brows relaxed slightly. Inexperienced was an understatement, this was the first time he’d ever handed out a promotional card.
But he was immensely grateful he’d stuffed this card into his pocket today; one he’d originally planned to discard casually.
He had thought that beautiful prey would only reappear in his sight again tonight under the hazy moonlight, yet this delightful surprise had come so unexpectedly.
How could he let this chance encounter slip by? This little card was a great help.
After building up the suspense, Shi Xingluo suddenly broke into a radiant grin. “I’ll join. With someone like Senior Qin in the club, it’s bound to be lively.”
A faint light flickered in Qin Yan’s eyes. Originally, he was merely a nominal club president—the previous president had pleaded relentlessly before he agreed to take the position for this term.
He’d never actually considered doing anything for the club. The vice president handled all the operations and said Qin Yan’s nominal involvement was enough.
But now…
“Of course. Welcome aboard. You won’t be disappointed.”
Qin Yan’s smile was subtle.
This perfectly matched the original description of the male lead clean-cut and handsome yet quiet and aloof, with a trace of indefinable melancholy between his brows.
Shi Xingluo tapped the card lightly. If he hadn’t witnessed this “aloof male lead’s” other side last night, tsk~
What proper aloof male lead would stalk a stranger at night and forcibly kiss them?
That’s practically asking for legal trouble.
After taking the card, Shi Xingluo tucked it into his pocket. “Well then, Senior Qin, I need to get to class. See you later.”
“Alright. See you later.”
Watching his retreating back that never hesitated, a dark glint silently surfaced in Qin Yan’s eyes before quickly vanishing into the campus’s bright morning light without a trace.
He stared intently at Shi Xingluo’s fading figure, the corners of his lips curling into a barely perceptible arc. No hurry, no hurry. They’ll meet again tonight.
“So, this is the body inhabited by the Demon God Soul Shard?”
Shi Xingluo quickened his pace.
Erya heard Shi Xingluo’s words in the Sea of Consciousness but couldn’t reach a definitive conclusion. “Possibly, but the System’s only criterion for determining whether it’s a fragment of the Demon God is whether it triggers the Destruction Value. Other judgment methods can only serve as references.”
Shi Xingluo stared with dead-fish eyes. “So, you’re saying I have to sleep with him?”
Erya: “…”
The words might be crude, but the reasoning wasn’t wrong it seemed this truly was the only reliable method of determination.
“Hmph, useless Erya.”
“Either I have to figure it out myself, or I have to roll in the sheets to confirm,” Shi Xingluo sneered. “Then what’s the point of, having you?”
Though Erya couldn’t provide a clear answer, it didn’t mean Shi Xingluo hadn’t formed his own judgment.
But for the Demon God fragment in the beginner world to be the blatantly obvious male lead? Was that damned Demon God just too good at choosing bodies, picking one with inherent protagonist aura, or was the beginner mission somewhat easier in difficulty?
Shi Xingluo felt irritated. “Can we ignore the Destruction Value? He’s the female lead’s official partner.”
He had no intention of pulling some cliché move of stealing the female lead’s script.
Erya persuaded, “Host, those plot developments haven’t happened yet. The current male lead is completely pure.”
Shi Xingluo narrowed his eyes, a sharp glint flashing within them. “Who asked you about that?”
What he was really thinking was that there was something off about Erya’s subconscious—and who on earth designed the sole method for identifying the Demon God Soul to be sleeping together!?
This had to be some conspiracy, a scheme whose truth he couldn’t uncover yet!
Then what is the host entangled about?” Erya asked curiously. “Actually, strictly speaking, characters contaminated by the Demon God Soul are no longer the same as their original storyline counterparts.”
Shi Xingluo raised an eyebrow. “I figured that much.”
The original character was an aloof, slightly melancholic school heartthrob, but last night’s version was that damned guy who pinned him against the wall for a forced kiss while claiming it “shouldn’t be seen by others”!
Yet ironically, this exact type of damned guy happened to suit Shi Xingluo’s taste quite well~
