Director Xu explained the scene to him once. Cen Luan listened, nodding from time to time, but his gaze drifted past the crowd and landed on Ye Fu.

“You really don’t want to get out?” The male officer can’t help bringing up Tang Gu. “Didn’t you promise to take someone traveling? What, you don’t want to leave anymore?”

Yu Chibei’s expression changes. He stares coldly at the officer, his tongue pressing against the inside of his cheek. His eyes turn fierce for a split second, then instantly return to a lazy indifference. He says flatly, “Just a woman. Nice body. Slept with her comfortably.”

The female officer beside him slams the table, furious at his vulgar words. “Yu Chibei! Are you even human?! Tang Gu has been kidnapped by your brothers—her life or death is unknown—and you’re still saying things like that?!”

The slovenly man suddenly stands up, grabbing the female officer by the collar. “What did you say?”

She stumbles from the force. Seeing the male prisoner up close for the first time, she realizes how handsome he is. She blushes briefly before trying to push his arm away. “Let go…”

The male officer rushes over, trying to pry his arm loose, but Yu Chibei flings him aside.

The man grips the female officer’s collar tightly, his voice thunderous: “I’m asking you a damn question—! When did it happen?! Where was she taken?! Who did it?!”

The female officer is frightened by his intensity; her voice trembles. “…Today… tonight… hospital… at the hospital entrance… he… that man… driving a taxi… the surveillance footage’s been pulled…”

“Monkey.” Yu Chibei calmly states the name. “Nickname Monkey. Real name Hou Qiang.”

The female officer freezes in shock, then realizes the man is giving up information about his other accomplices.

The male officer quickly stands and starts recording.

“He’s targeting me. Let me out—I’ll bring Tang Gu back safe and sound.” As Yu Chibei speaks, the scar near his brow deepens with his lowered gaze, making his entire face appear darker and more intimidating.

The female officer rejects it outright. “No! We can’t possibly let you go!”

“I won’t run. As long as you let me out, I’ll definitely bring her back safely.” Yu Chibei glares at her. “I swear to heaven!”
