After being busy for an entire year, Pan Mengyan and Jiang Ruoxi finally welcomed a rare short holiday. They had long planned to take a boat trip together to fully enjoy the beautiful world. On the ship, they savored delicious food, admired the stunning scenery, and drank red wine, indulging in this blissful comfort.
However, a sudden disaster shattered this tranquility. Just as they were holding their wine glasses and appreciating the world’s beauty, a fierce wind suddenly swept across the sea not far away, accompanied by massive waves that churned the entire ocean. The ship rocked violently with the waves, as if it could capsize at any moment.
Pan Mengyan and Jiang Ruoxi tightly gripped the handrails, their hearts filled with fear. But worse was yet to come. As the ship drifted with the waves, it accidentally struck a reef, instantly tearing a large hole in the hull. Seawater continuously flooded into the cabin, causing the ship to tilt dangerously.
At that moment, an emergency broadcast came from the control room: “Attention to all passengers! The ship is sinking! Please quickly put on your life jackets and evacuate immediately!” Upon hearing the announcement, Pan Mengyan and Jiang Ruoxi frantically put on their life jackets, but the violent rocking made it difficult for them to stand steadily.
Amid the chaos, Pan Mengyan and Jiang Ruoxi held each other tightly, comforting and encouraging one another. Though terrified, they remained calm and tried to find a way to survive. Following the broadcast’s instructions, they decided to jump into the sea and await rescue……
They drifted at sea for a long time before finally reaching a deserted island. During this ordeal, both had fallen unconscious from inhaling seawater. Fortunately, they were wearing life jackets otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Without them, they likely would have been swallowed by the sea and perished in the ocean.
At the time, they held each other’s hands tightly, unwilling to let go. Only by doing so could they avoid being swept away by the waves and losing contact. If they had released their grip, they might have been carried off by the raging currents, with their fates left unknown.
When Pan Mengyan finally opened her eyes, she found herself lying on an unfamiliar beach. Feeling extremely weak, she forced herself to get up and search for Jiang Ruoxi. Soon, she spotted Jiang Ruoxi lying nearby, still unconscious. Jiang Ruoxi’s lips were pale, and she appeared to be in critical condition.
Pan Mengyan was frantic with worry. She called Jiang Ruoxi’s name while shaking her body vigorously, hoping to rouse her from unconsciousness. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, Jiang Ruoxi showed no response.
Just then, a dull rumble of thunder echoed from the sky, as if foretelling an approaching storm. Pan Mengyan grew increasingly anxious if they didn’t find shelter quickly, they would likely get drenched and fall ill. Determined, she resolved to find a safe place to take cover from the impending downpour as soon as possible.
Pan Mengyan mustered all her strength and laboriously carried Jiang Ruoxi on her back, trudging step by step toward the island’s interior. Her footsteps were heavy and slow, but she dared not stop, for time was of the essence. Finally, they reached a dense forest. Deep within the woods, Pan Mengyan discovered a cave that appeared suitable as a temporary shelter.
Gently, Pan Mengyan laid Jiang Ruoxi on the ground, her movements as delicate as if she were handling fragile treasure. She took a deep breath and began carefully observing their surroundings. The cave was not large but spacious enough to accommodate both. The walls felt slightly damp to the touch, and the air carried a faint musty odor.
Pan Mengyan sat quietly on the ground; her heart filled with anxiety and helplessness. She had no idea whether this deserted island held any edible food or life-sustaining water sources. But she knew that, at this moment, the most crucial thing was to remain calm and resilient. She firmly believed that if they did not give up, they would eventually find a glimmer of hope.
On this desolate and uninhabited land, Pan Mengyan and Jiang Ruoxi were about to face countless hardships and dangers. Yet, with unwavering faith and fearless courage in their hearts, they were convinced they would ultimately overcome all obstacles and embark on their journey home. In the days to come, they would stand shoulder to shoulder, exploring the mysteries of this enigmatically deserted island together, chasing the dawn of survival.
