Wendy had originally intended to ask about Jinian, but before Nan Shao could even utter “I don’t know,” Shen Jinchu had already locked horns with her. When Hua Hudie got dragged into it, she chanted about only wanting to watch the show without participating, yet while leisurely cracking melon seeds, she managed to wound people with her smiling remarks until they were internally bruised.
Wendy couldn’t make a scene then and there, so she shot Shen Jinchu a fierce glare before turning back to her seat.
Of course, Hua Hudie’s intention wasn’t to help Shen Jinchu. It was just that she happened to know both Wendy and Shen Jinchu and since Wendy was from Nost Institute while Young Master Jinchu was from Saint Yi Academy.
Her actions boiled down to two words favoritism!
While it was lively inside, Jinian and Su Mu had stepped out and specifically found a quieter spot.
The moment their footsteps halted, Jinian looked at Su Mu and couldn’t wait to ask, “Do you know Qiao Yumo?”
Su Mu still smiled gently. “It seems our junior has just arrived and isn’t very familiar with C City yet.”
Jinian glanced at him but didn’t respond.
“Let me introduce myself first,” he said, slightly bowing in a very gentlemanly manner. “I’m Su Mu, the student council president of Nost Institute.”
Jinian couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth. “Then how do you know about me? As far as I know, Qiao Yumo isn’t even friends with you!”
She knew of Su Mu Qiao Yumo had once told her about some matters at Nost Institute, inevitably mentioning two people.
President Su Mu and Diviner An Yan…
But at the time, she hadn’t been interested, so she hadn’t looked at the accompanying photos.
Su Mu examined Jinian with an appraising gaze, then recalled her series of reactions upon hearing Qiao Yumo’s name. His smile grew even gentler as he told her about how Qiao Yumo had come to the venue looking for her.
Just as he expected, Jinian’s expression wasn’t very good.
After lowering her head in thought for a while, she looked up at Su Mu. Her smile, lacking any genuine warmth, still appeared beautifully illusory. “Senior, since you’re not friends with Qiao Yumo either, you won’t tell him about tonight’s events, right?”
“What’s your relationship with Qiao Yumo?” he asked, posing a more pointed question.
“That’s my own business.”
He nodded. “You’re right, junior. I think so too.”
He nodded with sincere expression. Jinian stared at him and suddenly remembered she still had a weakness in his hands. If she didn’t want Qiao Yumo to find her, she’d have to leave C City. Of course she didn’t want to leave. Although she didn’t want to be found so quickly, the very reason she appeared here was because Qiao Yumo was here.
“He’s my brother.”
“Biological brother?”
Jinian glanced at him, pondered for two seconds, then said, “Heh, he’s my lover! I’ve traveled thousands of miles chasing my man here!”
“Oh?” He raised an eyebrow with great interest. “In that case, why not go to Nost Institute?”
“Senior, you don’t understand. Qiao Yumo is proud and looks down on me. If he suddenly saw me appear before him, he’d probably kick me out of C City immediately. So before I come up with a good strategy, I can’t recklessly show myself. Senior, if you tell him my whereabouts, you’ll be destroying my happiness and destroying others’ happiness shortens your lifespan and sends you to hell!”
She spoke with sincerity and conviction, yet as Su Mu gazed into her lively, expressive eyes, he couldn’t help but find her words utterly unbelievable.
