As Qiao Yumo left with Jinian, the prominent figures of Saint Yi Academy began arriving at school one by one, witnessing this scene along the way.
Throughout the journey, Jinian was chatting happily with Qiao Yumo about something, her laughter bright. Qiao Yumo’s gaze remained fixed on Jinian, as if no one else could capture his attention besides her.
Soon, a crowd gathered at the intersection between the high school and university divisions.
“So, what exactly is the relationship between Qiao Yumo and this pretty junior?” asked Shen Jinchu, his beautiful eyes brimming with curiosity.
“She calls him brother,” Nan Shao couldn’t help but interject, equally curious. However, investigating the matter seemed difficult so far, he didn’t even know where Qiao Yumo came from.
“Brother?” Shen Jinchu raised an eyebrow. “One surnamed Ji, the other Qiao. I’d say it’s more of a lover-brother situation.”
“Who said siblings must share the same surname?” Su Jiang shot a disdainful look at Young Master Shen.
“Fair point, but I still think it’s more like a lover-brother. You didn’t see the way Qiao Yumo looked at that junior tsk tsk, so doting and intense, full of scandalous vibes!”
The others looked at Shen Jinchu with contempt.
“If that’s the case, then you clearly don’t really like Qiao Xin Er. The way you look at her lacks any sense of tenderness or attachment,” someone remarked. The two had been dating for a long time, yet it seemed more like they were each doing their own thing.
Shen Jinchu took a step back, reaching for the slender hand of the girl behind him a girl with a delicate figure and an ethereal beauty. Smiling, he said, “Er Er, they’re all standing up for you now. How about we skip class today and go on a date instead?”
Qiao Xin Er, who had always been rather aloof, glanced at Shen Jinchu and replied after a two-second pause, “As you wish.”
Qiao Xin Er seemed to exist solely to accommodate Shen Jinchu. In the past, some had secretly reported to her about Shen Jinchu’s flirtatious nature and numerous female companions, but Qiao Xin Er never paid any attention to such talk. No matter how seriously others described it, it never stirred any emotion in her. And whenever Shen Jinchu wanted to do something and turned to Qiao Xin Er, she never refused.
Thus, in everyone’s eyes, Qiao Xin Er was deeply in love with Shen Jinchu, willing to forgive him no matter what, while she herself seemed dispensable to him.
Yet, it seemed no one noticed that if Shen Jinchu’s gaze held no affection for Qiao Xin Er, then Qiao Xin Er, whom everyone believed was madly in love with him, also showed no trace of love in her eyes when she looked at him.
So, day after day, Qiao Xin Er lived a life of quiet composure. During high school, she became famous across various schools not only for her fairy-like appearance but also because of Shen Jinchu.
“Qiao Xin Er, Shen Jinchu.”
Just as the two were about to leave, Su Jiang called out to them.
They turned back, their eyes clearly questioning Su Jiang.
Su Jiang looked at them, a smile playing on her lips, her gaze seemingly calculating. “How about I do a feature on your love story?”
“Using us for clicks?” Shen Jinchu raised an eyebrow.
Su Jiang chuckled. “No need.”
“Then why?”
“Of course, it’s to satisfy everyone’s curiosity.” Unlike Qiao Xin’er who kept everything to herself and never spoke her mind, Su Jiang was the type to speak her thoughts directly.
Shen Jinchu chuckled lightly: “Our Er’er is shy, so let’s just skip this interview and such.”
