Because of the words Su Mu was about to say, Jinian resignedly turned and walked toward the school gate.
Jinian had a deep obsession with driving and strongly disliked taxis. But if she didn’t want to take a taxi now, she’d have to walk to some specialty store. Unfamiliar with the area, how would she know where the store was?
Standing by the roadside, Jinian usually decisive in everything only struggled with indecision when choosing between taking a taxi or walking.
As she hesitated, a red sports car abruptly pulled up in front of her, startling her. She stared wide-eyed at the vehicle.
The car window slowly rolled down, revealing a breathtakingly handsome face. Yet, those blue eyes were as cold as the first time she had seen them.
Jinian looked at him. Had she provoked him a second time already? Who was that icy glare meant to intimidate?
He didn’t speak, simply parking the car in front of her. In fact, after that one glance when the window rolled down, he didn’t look at her again.
Jinian stared back at him unflinchingly. She began to eye his car with interest it looked high-performance and was her favorite color, red. He seemed so frail; if he started trouble, maybe she could just forcefully take it from him.
Scheming in her mind, her gaze grew even bolder.
Truth be told, Yan Qingge was also puzzled by his own actions.
He knew tonight was the freshman welcome party and had only come to check out the scene. But from afar, he spotted her craning her neck and looking around, which reminded him of their first encounter that afternoon: on such a wide road, she had managed to drive straight into the school gate. He couldn’t help wondering had she crashed again?
With that thought, his car came to a stop right in front of her.
“It’s hard to get a ride here. Where are you headed?” he finally spoke. It was their second meeting and her first time hearing his voice. His face was so beautiful it could be called pretty, but who knew his voice would be so magnetic?
Jinian looked at him, her expression strange. His face practically screamed “stay away,” yet he could say something like that?
“Seen enough?”
“If you’re so afraid of being looked at, why wander outside? Just lock yourself at home and never step out.” Jinian was never one to let others bully her easily.
“You!”
“Did you come here to pick a fight, senior? That’s not a good habit, and quarreling isn’t my thing either.”
In all his life, she was only the second girl who dared speak to him like this. His handsome face instantly turned cold. “Fine, keep waiting here for a ride then!”
“Wait!” Jinian always adhered to the principles of staying low-key and being flexible when needed. Seeing the window about to close, she hastily blocked it with her hand, her smiling eyes crinkling charmingly. “Senior, I need to go to the lighting mall.”
With that, she moved to open the car door.
“Sit in the back,” he said expressionlessly.
Jinian paused for a moment internally, glancing at the driver. They say the passenger seat is reserved for the significant other fine, she knew better than to overstep. Giving an OK sign, she silently headed to the back seat.
Not far away, a silver sports car that had clearly undergone special modifications was parked, its body as noble and unapproachable as its owner!
Su Mu sat in the car, having initially acted on a whim to play the good guy and give his junior schoolmate a ride, only to witness another strange incident tonight.
Just as Nost’s Qiao Yumo was known for his aloofness, Saint Yi’s Yan Qingge was equally renowned for keeping women at a distance. Rumor had it he had a girl he deeply admired not from City C and because of her, he had never been in a relationship, nor had he ever glanced properly at any other girl. Yet, what Su Mu witnessed tonight seemed to contradict that.
Not being a student of Saint Yi and having never privately investigated Yan Qingge’s affairs, Su Mu naturally couldn’t verify the rumor’s authenticity. However, the junior schoolmate named Jinian had piqued his curiosity about her identity.
One Qiao Yumo, one Yan.
A smile lingered at the corner of Su Mu’s lips as his slender fingers rhythmically stroked the steering wheel. All things would come to light eventually, and he looked forward to that day.
Qiao Yumo, Yan Qingge, Jinian.
Su Mu…
